John Jambert 12:02pm Jul 30

When Somare broke ranks with Pangu to form NA, we thought he will deliver to the people of PNG but all hopes dashed which led to his demise and the ‘forecful removal’ from office by Namah, Duma, Polye and O’Neil. O’Neil/Namah were seen as saviours, but now O’Neil seemed to have divorced Namah and team up with some of the very ‘political enemies’ we though he would have done away with. All hopes were on PNC/PNG parties but it now seems questionable given the possible alliance come 2012. In PNG politics, anything is possible – and normally from within the collation ranks…the fight for the top position is NOT over yet!

Sharp Talk REGRETS AND FEARS OF THE ALOTAU POND

REGRETS AND FEARS OF THE ALOTAU POND
My wild guess that O’Neil might be in a bit regret, if not he clearly sees what he should have done. I am reminded of Namah saying something few days ago about an ‘agreement/secret talk’ made and strengthened by the last coalition leaders before overthrowing Somare government in August 2011. Namah says it is binding to themselves and that they all leaders (may be O’Neil, Namah, Duma, Polye, Sir J, Marat, Parkop etc) pledged then to uphold that secret MOU even unto the elections and thereafter. Namah says O’Neil has breached that secret agreement.

I wish O’Neil would to some extent honour it and try establish communication with his last coalition partners first before opening doors to all others. Let me say that some political enemies are already in the Alotau camp and that does not provide favorable atmosphere for others of his last qualition partners to move in. For instance, look at Duma, he is not going in because Wingti is already there. Look at Polye, he is not making swift move because Ipatas is already there. Namah does not want to give in because he does not want to see Somare surviving in the same hausman. You may name the rest.

O’Neil should atleast realize and make a sit-back call on Other parties when he didn’t have any talk with is former partners. However, it happened that the call was made for anyone to come, thus all went in at the camp.

Its not a power fight alone, its a fight that also involving some sense of rekon to breach of last coalition MOU, so to say, and a fight to disect from associating with political enemies.

O’Neil should be in a regret now if he realises well because in his small pool of big fish, he may see himself a big one also or a small one and likely fear may criple in because big fish are known for major moves within a camp and or life of a government term. Not only this but already Eastern blocks and Kokopo blocks are under team up; not to mention my eager to know where Juffa and tigerman Kasiga Naru are aligned to. I guess all these stir up fears and regrets in that ever growing Alotau pond.

In a democratic nation; a Journalist must express in media what s/he has witness with his/her own eye substantiated by facts and figures. But our Moresby based Journalist are writing anything, even a street buai sellers’ views where that street guy also has not seen the scene. Journalist(s) must go to the scene and confirm it and write it. This guy should be fired or referred to the Media Council.

SUNDAY CHRONICLE bought off by IPATAS & PUNDARI??: While all the mainstream media and social media are expressing faul play in Enga Elections, only Sunday Chronicle has repeatedly published in favor of Ipatas & Pundari saying, all is good in Enga. What bull-crap! Polye’s name was tarnished by the same paper just recently. A while back, it published Kompiam Ambum as the MODEL district in PNG. Now it says elections in Enga have been the BEST! This is very poor and totally biased journalism at its best. Someone needs to refer Sunday Chronicle to the Media Council.

Making MONEY NOT By selling the story but for publishing the story..two different perspectives of journalism in PNG. So the most profitable option seems paying for publicity while the costly one is to investigate, write up and SELL the story. Which one is sustainable on the long run?
